Allteck's job was to modify the existing PQ4 transmission line crossing to accommodate a new CP Rail spur line (Red Bull Track) currently under construction in the area. Included in the job was the relocation of an existing galvanized steel H-Frame structure type T73-001-VC-01-25m support height. The existing structure was to be removed and re-installed approximately 30m from existing location. The existing structure is direct embedded in steel casing.

As part of the Red Deer Area Transmission Development (RATD) Project, the scope of work includes splitting of 138kV lines 768L/778L where the two lines are connected outside of two facilities viz. Gaetz 87S and North Red Deer 217S, extending 768L into Gaetz 87S and North Red Deer 217S, and installing breakers at the substation to accommodate the new line terminations. The existing telecommunication tower adjacent to the control building was moved to allow for the new line termination.

In December of 2014, heavy ice loading caused broken Shield Wire and damaged the OHSW tower wings requiring wing replacements and replacement of 7.5km of double shield wire. SaskPower called Allteck during the Christmas Holiday for emergency repairs to the 230kV double circuit steel towers damaged due to ice.

Allteck was responsible for cable installation and assisting the client with termination and testing. The project scope included civil work for trenching and backfilling, scaffold installation and removal, low voltage testing, and high voltage testing support.

Project: High Pressure Pipe Type 69kV Cable Termination Repair

Canfor Pulp Mill hired Allteck to replace a leaking high-pressure Canada Wire type termination. This termination was built in 1964 and was subject to severe corrosion issues which resulted in a cable oil leak. Allteck’s high-voltage installation crew carried out the replacement of the termination and utilized specialized oil purification degassing equipment to purify the existing cable oil.

Project: Kettle River Line Construction for the Enbridge Transmission Development Project

Kettle River was a new ‘in-out’, double circuit line connecting a newly constructed substation to the grid. 240kV Construction which was bundled 477 Hawk conductor. The project included installation of OHSW (overhead shield wire), OPGW (optical ground wire) and salvage of conductor wire. Allteck constructed 9 towers and several wood structures with a circuit length of about 4.5 km.
